What do hot apple cider, a steaming cup of java, gorgeous painted furniture, and a warm inviting atmosphere all have in common? They are all pleasant and were for the pickins’ at Lynda’s Pleasant Pickin’s open house this past weekend.
I’m a big fan of Pleasant Pickin’s painted furniture so it was such a treat to drop by to meet Lynda in person. She’s re-vamped her back shed into a charming studio/shop selling her gorgeous painted furniture, gift wares and crafted treasures.
I’m sharing my visit to give you a BIG dose of inspiration.
Lynda is proof that you can follow your dreams on YOUR OWN terms. Whether you sell your painted furniture online, at a flea-market booth, a storefront, OR from your very own backyard, a thriving business is possible!
This open house was bustling with visitors and I’m not exaggerating when I say things were flying out the door. Keep reading to see the painted green chair that went M.I.A as I was photographing it!
Here’s a look at Lynda’s gorgeous work and what was available at the open house…
Along with meeting Lynda and seeing her impressive work, I also had the pleasure of viewing some brilliant art. Floral and garden artwork from local artist Peggy Jackson, and mixed media florals and seascapes from local artist Tammy Strachan from Studio T. Plenty of original artwork on display and available for purchase.
Oh… and check out the chair that went M.I.A as I was photographing it. When I turned my back to check my cameras exposure, a woman had scooped up the chair and was walking out with it!
Can’t blame her… it’s adorable and L-o-V-e the color!
And this is amazing… wait ’till you see this… up-cycling and re-cycling at it’s best.
Lynda and her husband Mark salvaged an old dining table by turning it into three separate projects. They cut the table in half to create two coffee tables and the excess wood boards as rolling shutters in their kitchen!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Lynda… thank you for your warm and gracious welcome and inviting me into your beautiful home! It was such a pleasure meeting you and your family!
And to you… I hope this has encouraged and inspired you to follow your dreams… on your own terms!

I hope your day is filled with goodness… and happy painting!
