Happy Tuesday friends! We had fun with our last Think Pink roundup, so with St.Patrick’s Day around the corner, lets Think Green! Today I’m sharing 25 Beautiful Furniture Makeovers created by some amazingly talented furniture painters!
Green is one of my favorite colors. Whether it’s vibrant or muted, light or dark, green can look stunning paired with white, black, grey or gold. It’s versatile and lends itself to a sleek modern look, yet it’s equally spectacular in a rustic farmhouse setting.
I’ve always been drawn to homes and spaces that showcase any type of green. I love the way it brings a fresh feeling of nature indoors. I don’t have any green furniture in my home but I use to have plenty of plants. The last few years I’ve been horrible at keeping them alive, so faux plants have taken their place. It will do for now. π
Here’s 25 beautiful furniture makeovers. Enjoy.

I have a few cans of Annie Sloan’s Olive and Amsterdam Green on standby. After seeing what all these talented furniture artists have created, I’m on the hunt for a perfect piece to paint in this beautiful color!
I hope you enjoyed the round-up. π
Green is often a love it or leave it color? Are you a fan? Feel free to chime in to say ‘hi’ because I always love hearing from you! π
Happy painting friends!

Have u ever sprayed painted a piece of furniture with a gloss paint with success? II would like to do the base of a dining table & restrain the top. I love the combat blues? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Kathy! I don’t do a lot of high gloss pieces and when I do add some gloss, I use a gloss topcoat rather than going the glossy paint route. That said if you have a good sprayer a high gloss paint finish looks AMAZING! What I do know is prep is key! You want your base to be smooth as silk before you use a high gloss paint because, with a glossy finish, every little nook and cranny shows up because it catches the light.
Hi Denise π Fantastic post! What an amazingly talented group of artisans you featured. Personally I love green (but blue is my absolute favourite)! Green is one of those colours that draws in your eye and has a calming effect to a room. I think a room without green, either with plants for decor, is missing something. About a year ago I painted a dresser in ASCP Olive with deep red highlights. It turned out to be one of my favourite pieces so I kept it for myself and use it as a buffet.
Hi Annie! I have ASCP Olive raring to go but I never thought of pairing it with red! I’ve had sellers remorse a few times so it’s nice you kept the buffet for yourself.:)
Love these photos of re-dos. I just completed my own decor color change with the help of green (teal) granite contact. First a desk surface, then tops of three occasional cabinets were covered. Then I painted baker’s rack and back walls of white bookcases dark teal. White sideboard sports “faux” green granite top with handles too match. So many compliments after surprise of guests about the “faux” part! And I am happily enjoying the new color makeover!!! Love how it complements my old rose upholstery and few pink accents. Drexel (bedroom), Lenox, Noritake, crystal, hand-painted “others”… don’t seem to mind one bit!!!
Wow Vesta… you’ve been a girl on the go with all those makeovers! Sounds amazing. π
Denise, thanks for the eye candy that provided. All, lovely! You did a great job putting those images together, a kind tribute to the month of “Green!” Thanks for the inspiration always,
Thanks Kim… so glad you enjoyed them. And it’s funny, you that you say “…great job putting those images together”. Truth – I was always under the impression putting together a roundup was fairly quick and easy. WRONG! I think I spent more time searching out images and linking back to these talented artists than I would have writing a tutorial from scratch! There’s so much talent out there and picking is not easy. So again, thanks π so glad you like the roundup. π
I appreciate your effort, too! The collection of ‘greens’ is amazing! Now I have to go investigate on the sites of the colors so I can paint something! So lovely and heart-lifting!
Wow, what an amazing roundup, Denise. They are all amazing.
There’s so much amazing talent out there.. it was hard picking and choosing. And yes, they are ALL so amazing! It was fun spending some time browsing and appreciating their work.
The green color is not my taste, but I sure do like all the different furniture pieces. My house and furniture pieces are a soft pink, and I imagine your furniture in pink.
Hi Julia! Soft pink – lovely!!! Even though I really like pink, I don’t have ANY pink furniture in my house. Oh, except for this Antoinette Side Table which I haven’t got around to listing for sale yet. π Maybe, subconsciously, I like it exactly where it is. π
Wow, I am soooo glad I found your place here, very pretty! *nods head* I am not usually a fan of green furniture, but certain shades of green however are beautiful! After all, green goes with everything right? That piece with the botanical print, gah! Gawjous! Gotta wipe the drool off, and figure out where I could use a piece like that. Maybe my bedroom…guest room, guest bath…anywhere! Lovely, just lovely. Inspires me to grab my trusty Mod Podge and go back to my decoupage past…Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Denise! Soooo glad you’ve found the SI Blog too…welcome! π The botanical table is amazing and Patty did the decoupage beautifully! I’m inspired right there along with you. π
These are all beautiful. Thanks for the round up of green furniture. I am loving black and white with green and recently painted two pieces with “Cats eye”, a deep gorgeous emerald green and they are my new favorite pieces.
Hi Kay! Cats Eye sounds beautiful… and I love green with black and white too. The combo can look very striking and/or give a really clean look. π
Off-topic, but that sounds like Kristi from Addicted to Decorating’s style. =) You should check out her projects if you haven’t already!
Oh Denise. You chose some beautiful pieces BUT you forgot to add your own masterpiece, the green china cabinet, which to this day remains my very favourite <3
That’s sweet Carole. {big hug} π
I too am a big lover of green and Blues or teal and aqua those are my colors especially with white or black. Beautiful collection you put together there, but my absolute favorite is the last one in the dark teal. Same color I painted my Master Bath vanity and it’s beautiful with the carrara marble, white tile & silver accents.
And, oddly, I cracked open a container of a minty gteen mineral Fusion paint to start a project today. Great minds, huh? π trying to get back in the saddle.
Chez!!!! π I have a soft spot for the last one too. Love it! Your Master Bath sounds beautiful with the white and silver accents. Have fun with your Minty Green Fusion today. I’m heading downstairs to find a new project myself. It’s almost 3pm and I’m still in first gear. ugh
Hi Denise. I’m usually not a fan of green furniture, but I loved looking at all the pretty pieces you featured. Still can’t imagine green in my own home though. lol
Hi Monique! Glad you like the roundup. π I LOVE green but I don’t have any green furniture in my home either. I guess I just haven’t found the right piece or place yet… so for now, I’ll stick with my fake plants. LOL
Last year, the color of the year was blush/subdued mint green. Duller versions of my two favourite colors. And this year, my mother’s favorite color.
Unfortunately, I’ve always hated green (that isn’t circa 1950 mint green). π My Irish must be rebelling.
These are gorgeous makeovers, though. =) You can’t deny the skill and charm of each one! The last one, Just Decorate, Fabulous Finish, 38th Street, and Style Mutt Home’s are my favorites, absolutely beautiful.
Green kind of goes with distressing, doesn’t it? And the dark wax… gives you that “covered in moss, found in the forest” sort of vibe. π Very outdoorsy! Great round-up, Denise.
I have to ask – do you think the color of the year really affects home decor that much? For the most part, this house has been pretty unchanged from the 1920s it was built and some of the 1960s touches (that deer hunting paneling, for example!) that the previous owner added, but the neighbors here are corn fields. π I can understand maybe a few new throw pillows… but new wall paint seems crazy to me!
…”my Irish must be rebelling” LOL. Yes, I find (like you, your Mother and Monique – previous commenter), people often love it or hate it. For me, it really gives me an outdoorsy/natural feel. I think that’s part of the appeal and why I like it so much. Being hoarded up in my studio (aka my basement) painting furniture and/or sitting behind my iMac, I need to surround myself with some sort of greenery which slightly resembles the outdoors. Hence the fake plants.;) As for color of the year affecting home decor – hmmmm – probably not that much. It’s good in the sense that it may open someones eyes to a color they may not have considered before. It’s certainly something for bloggers to blog about and media to talk about, but I think we’re all smart enough to pick colors we’re drawn to and like rather than go with the new trend. And I agree, no way in he%$ I’m painting my walls every year. You’re 1920’s home surrounded by corn fields sounds amazing btw!!! =)
That’s true! It must be the country music of colors. π And that makes sense! Forest green connects you to nature unlike any other color… maybe that’s why green is so love/hate, it can have such powerful connotations. (And maybe the corn fields have just made me sick of nature, hah!) Who doesn’t love plants in the home though, real or fake? =)
And I agree, that’s what I figured. I had never considered green in the home before, and I can appreciate it in a new light now… so job well done, color of the year? π Haha, once a decade is excessive! π And thanks! I think your home and studio sound ideal. π I grew up here, and it was unfortunately never maintained by the previous owners, and by the time we got it, repairs cost more than the house (craziness!), so it’s not in the best shape… =( But the location is ideal! Except for the tornadoes. π
Tornadoes??? Where are you located?
Iowa. We just had a big tornado blow right through our backyard, more or less, a few days ago!
Iowa… yes, I think you’ve mentioned that before. =) I hope everything and everyone is safe! xo
