Hi everyone! I have some great news I want to share with you which demonstrates the power of persistence and the kindness of others!
I’ve been desperately searching for the Husky HVLP Spray Paint Gun which Deana over at Alchemy Fine Living raves about. My Wagner is frustrating me, so it’s time to upgrade to a paint gun which is reliable and provides a consistent professional finish.
Here’s the problem.
Canadian Home Depot Stores/Website do NOT sell Husky spray guns. This wouldn’t be so bad if I could order it from HomeDept.com in the US, but they won’t ship it to a Canadian address. What’s with that?
Well I’m not one to give up easily. I’m like a dog with a bone, a kid with candy, an unfulfilled gal with her Godiva and Haagan-Dazs.
I phoned the Husky Customer Service # provided on the Home Depot site and spoke with Rochon, a Husky/Home Depot Representative. She was wonderful!
I explained to her how badly I wanted this paint gun. Rochon took the time to make a few phone calls on my behalf while I was on hold. The next thing I knew, she was asking for my full address so a Home Depot Husky Distributor could send me a complimentary Husky Gravity Feed HVLP Spray Gun!!
Yes… complimentary…. FREE!
I’m so looking forward to receiving it and giving it a go!
To Rochon, and the wonderful kind-hearted person who made the decision to send the Spray Gun “on good faith”, THANK YOU! You really made my day!
To my readers, don’t let “setbacks” or “no’s” deter you. Be persistent and take that extra step. It may be the next person you talk to who will help you along your way.
Have a terrific Tuesday and talk to you soon.
Denise xo
***Note - They did NOT know I blog & write reviews. Home Depot simply just has the BEST customer service!
**Update ~ I thought I would update you all because every time I spray a piece, I get some questions on my spray gun. It’s been exactly 7 years since I wrote this post and I’m STILL using the same Husky Paint Gun.
Granted, I don’t spray finish all my furniture but I have been spray top coating all my pieces for some time. This paint gun has had ample use and it still works amazing… although it doesn’t look great anymore..lol. I’m meticulous cleaning the inside after I finish spraying but not the outside. Besides that, I will be buying a new paint cup and filters and they DO sell them at Canadian Home Depots now! 🙂
The Harbor Freight PPS (take of 3M) was a game changer for my Husky HVLP!!!! Spray upside down! Store left over paint!
Thanks for sharing Karen!
Denise, does the paint gun need a different compressor to work properly ? Can you use the one that comes with it?
Hi Sharon! Yes, this Husky Paint Gun does require a compressor because a compressor does not come with it.
Hi read the secs. and it says not suitable for latex paints. How did you find it for latex. Kind regards from Scotland, Madeleine.
Hi Madeleine! I didn’t notice that in my spec/manual however I have used it with latex and it works beautifully. I’ve also used it with thick chalk paint and it still did a smashing job. However, when spraying with ANY sprayer, thinning with water is not uncommon if you think the paint is too thick. 🙂
hello, I have never used a sprayer before..does it make a huge mess like my hubby is trying to tell me? he says I need a booth for all the over spray but it would sure make painting round spindles easier!
It can Terri. There is overspray for sure but depending on the model and how experienced you are at the settings, it can be adjusted to a minimal overspray. I have a designated paint room with a huge fan blowing out for good ventilation. If you don’t have a designated space, spraying outdoors may be an option. 🙂
Hi Denise,
What type of compressor do you use with the spray gun.
Thanks
Dianna, my compressor is Mastercraft ~ 11-gallon(41.6L) CFM 6.2 @ 40 PSI and 5.2 @ 90 PSI. The Husky Paint Gun shoots at 40 PSI.
Thanks for the quick reply. Looking forward to getting the spray gun and compressor and start painting.
so how is the new paint gun??? Is it as good as the other blogger said? lol
YES!! I’m LOVING it Debbie!
