I hope some of you furniture painters are going to get this, because honestly, I’d don’t want to come across as the ‘only’ eccentric furniture painter out there. 😉
While I’m working on a piece, I always start eyeballing my inventory for the next piece I want to restyle. Even though I have a ton of great pieces, sometimes NOTHING inspires me and it’s tough to move onto the next project – frustrating right!?
This is how I felt last night. And you know what they say, “When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping”.
At around 11pm, I went online and started scouring Craigslist and Kijiji ads. I swear, people who post things for sale online must all be night-owls – like me. I made nine (9) inquiries, and seven (7) of them responded back before 1 a.m. Gotta love shopping for those deals online!
After setting up some appointments to view, I found some AMAZING furniture that I picked up today.
Take a look at this gorgeous antique buffet.
And the original hardware on this waterfall dresser.
I also have a few more pieces I’m going see tomorrow – can’t wait. Here’s my trunk full of inspiration!
Some girls hit the mall to shop for clothes and shoes, I hit Craigslist to shop for old furniture. I’m feeling inspired again.
Feel free to leave a comment below! I always love hearing from you!
Enjoy your day and have fun with your next project!

You aren’t crazy! We creative people can’t be expected to be rational all the time! 🙂 I frequently have to work on a certain piece due to space constraints in my garage – but sometimes, nothing speaks to me and I go shopping anyway too! On a side note, what the heck do you drive that you can fit so much in the back?!? LOL!
Eccentric and irrational creatives… I like it Allison. 😉 And this is my furniture hauling van…lol. A Ford Windstar with all the back seats removed. Fits’ a ton!
WOW great handles on the waterfall dresser LOVE IT. They look like wings. Cannot wait to see how that turns out….
I love them too… they’re what dazzled me about this piece.
