Hi my friends – I hope you’re having a great day and all of you south of the border are enjoying your Memorial Day long weekend!
This past Saturday, I put aside a few hours to treat myself to some eyecandy at the Christie Antique Show in Dundas – so glad I did!
It was a perfect sunny afternoon, and I was surrounded by hundreds of vendors displaying quality antiques, collectibles and fine art. A few things that caught my eye –
Antique farm equipment – love the rust and chippy red paint on this piece …
colorful antique depression glass….
antique knobs and hardware – I would have luuuved to dump these in a box and take them ALL home! 🙂 …
and old ‘props’ that are perfect for staging painted furniture. I would have picked this cutie up if I hadn’t already bought the exact same one from the ReStore a few months ago!
But the favorite part of my day was browsing the furniture and meeting a few of the wonderful vendors!
Here’s an adorable piece by Pamela at Bluestone Cottage. Pamela has a paint line (chalky, silky and milk paints) that I can’t wait to try!
Lorna at Graham & Brooks displayed salvaged doors, antiques and furniture.
And Mary and Anita from Pepper Pot Place had a beautiful booth showcasing Annie Sloan painted furniture. Don’t you just love the upholstered chairs?!
To end my day, I couldn’t leave the grounds without trying the mini-donuts. True fact: I’m a DONUT MONGER and I have to try donuts wherever I go! All of you in the States may argue that Krispy Kreme or Dunkin’ Donuts is the best, but I’ve tasted them all and nothing beats our Tim Horton’s! 😉
A BIG thank you to Pamela from Bluestone Cottage, Lorna at Graham & Brooks, and Mary and Anita at Pepper Pot Place for sharing their beautiful creations!
Feel free to leave a comment below… even if you don’t think Tim Horton’s is the very best! 😉 I always love hearing from you!
Denise x

Hi Denise – I’ve seen a few posts about Christie’s Antique Show. Sounds great. I’ll have to visit it one day. Hmmmmm….I’m Canadian, but hate to admit it, I prefer Dunkin Donuts to Tim Hortons. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer of Dunkin Donuts left…..
If/when you visit, be sure to let me know so we can get together for donuts and coffee… my treat Mary. I’ll even search out a Dunkin Donuts’ around here for you. 🙂
Did you happen to buy anything?
Donuts…lol. Elaine, I got so caught up in chatting with different vendors and taking pics – I didn’t buy anything. But I still had an inspiring day!
Great meeting you at the Christie Show Denise and thanks so much for showcasing PEPPER POT PLACE on your blog. We had a wonderful and very successful day. All our furniture is totally hand loved with all that hand painting and hand waxing.
We look forward to chatting with you again soon.
Cheers,
The Pepper Pot Place Team
Rob, Anita, Mary and Lorne
My pleasure Mary and it was great meeting you and Anita too! You’re furniture/styling is gorgeous!
Yes, I agree – nothing beats a 40 pack of Timmies! 🙂
YES, I’m with you on the 40 pack!!! 🙂 My sister often orders one (1) timbit with her coffee…can you believe the willpower?! lol
Oh Denise, what a TREAT!!! I would have tackled you for the hardware. lol LOVE IT!!! I had a favorite place out in Portland, OR when I lived there, called Hippo Hardware. mm mm good. Now their prices resemble Restoration Hardware.
Thanks for the vicarious trip! :))))
If we had wrestled for the hardware after I ate all those mini donuts, you may have been the victor – but before the donuts – NO WAY Christina..lol! 😉
