I have an amazing up-cycling Quick-Tip-Tuesday for you today. Did you know you can make shapely furniture feet by re-purposing old furniture legs?
Julie (and hubby Marc) from Simple Redesign turned these fancy wooden legs into gorgeous feet using an old-school hand saw.
Take a look…
[box] “My honey created a few different sets of feet for me from 1 set of fancy legs I’ve been holding onto. See, hoarding does pay off!
Because of the curves and inability to perfectly level, a hand saw was the best option over the 8 other cutting options we had. Sometimes old school is the best method!”[/box]
Love this tip! Wood furniture feet can easily run from $10-$45+ depending on the type of wood and detail… so this makes good re-purposing sense.
Save a leg while saving money and create beautiful restyled furniture!
I can’t wait to see what projects Julie uses these shapely feet on. And if you’re not familiar with her work, here’s some teaser pics below. All of her pieces are unique and painted to perfection in gorgeous vibrant colors!
A close up of her flawless work!
I hope this entices you to hop on over to Simple Redesign Facebook Page and give her new a like. Julie gives a TON of great furniture painting and repair tips and always has new restyled furniture to share with her followers. I really admire Julie. She’s always sharing… and certainly an excellent example on how to run a successful furniture painting business!
Have you ever up-cycled old furniture parts onto restyled furniture? How did it work out for you? I love all your comments, questions and suggestions so keep ’em coming!
Catch last week’s Q-T-T here – and if YOU have any tips you’d like featured on the SI Quick-Tip-Tuesday-Series, feel free to send me an email!
Enjoy your day and have fun with your next project!
