Are you as addicted to Pinterest as I am?
I’m one of those Pinterest’ers who tells myself I’ll spend 15 minutes checking out whats new in Pin’land. Then 1 hour later, I find myself in a trance and have to pry my eyeballs away from the screen!
Although Pinterest can be a time-vampire, there’s no denying it keeps me up on new trends and has unlimited inspiration! As a perfect example; I tend to gravitate to more subtle muted tones when re-styling furniture. I keep seeing gorgeous painted furniture in turquoise, reds and corals so if you’ve noticed, lately I’ve been getting a little braver and using more vibrant colors!
This curvy dresser was sprayed in Sherwin Williams Ravishing Coral #6612 and finished with Minwax Furniture Paste for a soft sheen. This dresser is gorgeous and is perfect for any feminine setting.
And for those of you who ‘need’ a before & after… here it is! {smiling because I LUV before & afters too!}
So what’s your preference…muted tones or a pop of color? Leave me a comment and let me know!
Enjoy your day and happy painting!

What a beautiful coral dresser. I NEVER would have guessed from the before picture that I would loooveee this piece of furniture so much!!! Thank-you for showing me that I needn’t be aftraid of color. Well done:)
Thanks Monique! Using bold colors can feel a little intimidating but when I bite the bullet and do it, I usually end up loving it!
Very efficiently written information. It will
be helpful to everyone who employess it, including me. Keep up the good work – looking forward to more posts.
This is the perfect color for this piece – so feminine and pretty! Love it!
I’m a fairly new subscriber and love your blog. I just found this post via The Painted Drawer’s Friday Link Party. It is gorgeous! I love a pop of color.
Thanks Patricia.. and welcome! I’ll have to drop on by your blog! ๐
Hi,
I did a search for waxing a while back and your site came up so I checked it out and I really like your style. I enjoy your blog writing as well. You seem very thorough, which I appreciate as a reader. I love this coral dresser, popped over to it thru the other post. I just bought SW Lei flower to use on nearly the exact same dresser! So this was a nice preview. My big question is, I wanted to add legs to several pieces I’m working on and I noticed you have legs on this dresser in the afters but not the before photos. Did you add them or simply remove for refinishing? My dresser bottoms would need a chunk screwed into the corner to stabilize the plate before attaching the leg. Is there an easier way that you know of? I keep watching clips on this and they all seem the same. I have limited carpentry skills and tools, but big ideas so I need to step up my game. Thank you and sorry so long!
Sincerely,
Kara
Hi Kara… our dressers are going to be twins! ๐ SW Lei Flower is just one shade darker than SW Ravishing Coral… such a pretty color! I purchased legs for this dresser but it already had the required holes and hardware to screw them in. You can add furniture legs using ‘T-Nuts’ OR the ‘Surface Plates’ you’re referring to. You just gave me a great idea for another blog post!
Absolutely gorgeous you clever (brave) madam you!!!!! So this the coral piece you were saying you did. I love it! Good job Dee.
Love this color….turned out beautiful and also like your display of milk glass ๐
I too. Have stayed with muted colors, but the spring made me want to look outside my color box and I love the coral. I will definitely try it. Question: You said you spray painted it. May I ask what spray paint system you use?
Thanks for sharing all the helpful tips ๐ Denise
I use a Husky HVLP Spray Gun with an 11-gallon(41.6L) compressor(CFM 6.2 @ 40 PSI and 5.2 @ 90 PSI). The Husky Gun sprays at 40 PSI. Have fun with your Spring colors Denise!!! ๐
I love a pop of color… although muted has it’s place. Those muted pieces allow the pop of color pieces to really ‘Pop’. I love your blog. I’m learning a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for reading and dropping by Laurie Ann. <3
GORGEOUS!!
Your dresser is ssoooo soft and feminine! I would love to be able to run my hands over the soft finish you’ve achieved!! Very effective!!!
That is VERY sweet.
Good choice!
