I’ll share all the details on how to enter the giveaway at the end of this post… but first, let’s see what these amazing paints and products can do.
You may recall the Holy Guacamole Dresser.
This was the first opportunity I had to use and Review Dixie Belle Chalk/Mineral Paint. To sum it up, I loved the coverage and the beautiful matte finish. And the colors – WOW! I haven’t seen such vibrant-bold colors in any other chalk/mineral paint line.
Dixie Belle’s ‘Red Barn’ was the inspiration for this restyled Fumed Oak Dresser.
‘Red Barn’ is a gorgeous vibrant red. I knew it would play off this fumed oak beautifully. When the Van Dyke Brown Glaze was applied over the red, it gave an old-barn-board effect. LOVE it!!!
The dresser top was cracked in half and the fumed oak veneer was peeling. After all my repairs, I preserved as much of the wood as possible. Only the wood on the legs and around the drawers were in good enough shape to leave exposed. Although only a small amount of fumed oak is showing, it really adds to the Farmhouse Chic character.
The hardware is from Hobby Lobby and ties everything in perfectly.
To finish and protect this dresser, Easy Peasy Spray on Wax. Have you ever heard of this product?
When Dixie Belle sent a generous package for me to try, I was a little skeptical about a spray wax. I wondered, “Could a spray-on wax seal and protect like a traditional furniture wax?”
Although it felt like I was Windexing my windows rather than waxing a piece of furniture, I was pleasantly surprised. It IS easy peasy just like the bottle promises. Super easy to spray on and wipe off. As far as I can tell, the only difference to traditional wax is the sheen. Even when buffed, it has a matte finish. Perfect for this Farmhouse Chic Dresser.

Just spent a half hour touring the Dixie Belle website. I was amazed at how many colours they offer in their chalk paint line along with many of their other products. Its really hard to narrow down the colour(s) I liked best because I basically loved them all. If I was buying paint for a project it would be a hard choice between Pure Ocean, Sea Glass, Hurricane Gray, Burlap, The Gulf or Blueberry. Can’t wait to find a store in my area where I can buy this paint locally. A big welcome to Dixie Belle Paint to Canada and the G.T.A. in the near future
