Lately I’ve been bringing my Dad and Gidget on all my furniture pick-ups. It’s great to have his company for the drive, and it gets the ol’ guy out of the house {wink & smile}. As an added bonus, Dad’s been a great help in training Gidget to feel more comfortable in a car.
I’m happy to say, we’ve been taking baby steps and she actually enjoys her car outings now!
So, onto this stunning antique “peach orchard” dresser I found on Kijiji!

When I answered the ad for this dresser, I had no idea we were heading for a nice outing to the Niagara Region.
If you’re not familiar with this area, it’s often thought of as Wine Country. The climate and soil is perfect for growing peaches, apples, pears and of course… grapes! There are plenty of boutique/organic wineries, and even celebrity wineries including Dan Aykroyd, Mike Weir and Wayne Gretzky Estates.
Dad and I were so impressed when we pulled up to acres of land devoted to peach trees and a charming home smack-dab in middle of the orchard!
Denyse (yes another Denise!) is the sweetest person and invited Dad and I in for tea. We also received an invite back for when the peach trees are all in bloom!
Yet another example of the wonderful people I get to meet in my business.
This antique dresser is beautiful and I can’t wait to start restyling her to give her a fresh modern/vintage look.A few repairs are needed. Peeling veneer and stubborn drawers. M-M-M is fixing two drawers as I write this!
For me, all the peeling veneer and old flaws make this piece even more appealing. Nothing can take away from this dresser’s gorgeous details!
Can’t wait to start! In fact, by the time you’re finish reading this post – I’ll bet I’m already high on Bondo fumes, covered in dust and splotched with paint! 🙂
oh…and just curious – can you spot any differences in this dresser?
I may/or may not have noticed – but Denyse was nice enough to point them out before I purchased.
Looking forward to sharing the ‘after’ with you!

I just discovered your blog on Pintrest, and love it! I have an Old mahogany cedar chest I inherited from my Aunt that has a similar look to this, and I would love to see what you did with this as an Inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talents!
Hi Shoshana and WELCOME! So happy you found the #siblog through Pinterest! Your Aunt’s mahogany/cedar chest sounds gorgeous and I’m glad this has inspired. Look forward to chatting again. 🙂
You are an inspiration and I love your projects. I also love Dixie Belle Sea Grass!
Great “ANTIQUE “PEACH-ORCHARD” DRESSER” I LOVE the dresser! Can hardly wait to see what you do with it? I didn’t know Wayne Gretsky had a winery in Niagara.

Oooh!! Since you said peach orchard, I can only imagine this in a lovely, lightly distressed peach hue with mint green stylings. Can’t wait to see how you revamp it, now I have ideas for my own desk. =D
I was originally thinking a peachy/coral too but decided to go with something different. So glad this inspired ideas for your desk Zovesta! 🙂
I LOVE the dresser! Can’t wait to see what you do with it? I didn’t know Wayne Gretsky had a winery in Niagara.
Yes… N°99 has wineries out in BC and California too!
The handles are different on the bottom drawers
Even my sister can’t see the 2 differences on this dresser and she spots everything…lol! Yes, there is one mismatched hardware pull on the second drawer on the right side. Good eye Julie!!!
Do you have ANY idea what color you’re thinking of for this? I can’t wait to see the “after”
As I mentioned to Zovesta, I originally thought a pink, peach or coral but changed my mind. Recently Dixie Belle Paints sent me some samples so I opted to try one of their colors instead. 🙂
