Here’s how easy and quick this all came together…
UNPACK AND SORT
I started by unpacking and laying out all the wood cutouts and transfers included in the fall craft kit.
CUT TRANSFER DESIGNS
There’s more than one design per sheet, so I cut around each design, leaving ample space. It doesn’t need to be cut exactly because only the design portion will be applied to the wood cutout.
APPLY TRANSFER DESIGN
After I cut the portion of the transfer I wanted to start with (I picked the Autumn Arrow), I pulled off the backing and matched it up with the arrow wood cutout. This doesn’t have to be exact either. I like a little of the wood peeking through! I positioned it and laid it down in place. Then, using my hand, I rubbed the sticky side onto the wood. The kits come with a burnishing tool so to adhere the transfer 100% I rubbed the transfer on and this releases the mylar topsheet as shown below. Applying these is the exact same way you apply them to furniture so I have a details tuturial on How To Rub On Transfers here.
I repeated the same steps for the punkin designs… super cute!
I was enjoying myself, so I brought out the Country Pickin’ Wood Cutout Kit as well! 😃
DISPLAY OPTIONS
These cutouts come with wooden stands with slots that you can prop them up with. Great if you’re displaying them on a mantel, coffee bar, table setting ect. I decided to use them to jazz up my backdoor arrangement so I grabbed some free paint sticks and painted them in Collard Greens. I glued a few of the vignettes on with wood glue and then cut the bottoms so they would be easy to ‘stake’ into the planters.
🙋♀️ EXTRA FALL DECOR IDEAS
These cute cutouts can be used for so many different decor ideas! If you can think of more, I’d love to hear in the comments below.
-
Use the decorated cutouts as gift tags for fall birthdays, Thanksgiving gifts, or hostess treats.
-
Pumpkin decor with the smaller transfer pieces.
-
Mix in natural elements like dried leaves, pine cones, or small branches to give it a rustic flair for a fall vignette on a mantel or tablescape.
-
Play with lighting—twinkle lights behind translucent or thinner cutouts look magical.
-
Make a version for table décor—a centerpiece garland for your dining table.
- Make a door wreath using these cutouts along with some fall leaves or dried flowers.
THE CUTE PUNKIN REVEAL…
Here’s the finished look, and how cute is this?!!!
This is a super cute way to customize fall florals.
A cheap and cheerful planter can be brought to life. Just look at my $6.99 yellow mums on the right-hand side. I think it looks adorable with the Autumn Arrow and apple baskets.
Here’s another look at this fall arrangement before and after. I hope it inspired you and gave you some ideas for your upcoming fall decor projects.
