FURNITURE FIXER-UPPERS FAVORITES ROUNDUP | OUR FAVES OF 2022!
Hi, sweet #sifamily! It’s Furniture Fixer Upper day and my FFU Crew and I have curated a very special holiday roundup! We’ve each picked one of our favorite furniture makeovers from each artist in our group. Believe me, this isn’t easy as there were so many gorgeous restyles’ in 2022. I’m excited to see what pieces my friends will be featuring on their blogs today. I hope you join me at the end of today’s post so we can click through and see what their faves are!
I had a lot of fun looking back at all the furniture we ‘saved’ this year. Dressers, chests, tables, bookshelves, china cabinets, and MORE! I’m always amazed at what these talented ladies create and I’m so honored to be part of this FFU team for yet another year.
Let’s get this holiday party started…
(me) Denise at Salvaged Inspirations
My favorite Furniture Fixer Upper Makeover of 2022 (that I created) is this curb-shopped Faux Linen Dresser I created back in May of this year. Is it the ‘best’ looking dresser I painted this year? Probably not. Did a lot of work go into fixing this garbage-bound piece? You bet! It was the first time I tried this faux linen technique and it didn’t turn out perfectly… but it was a ton of fun. And as always, sharing it with you is the icing on the cake so this is my pick for 2022. 🙂

And now for my faves from my FFU Crew. Just let me say, it’s NOT EASY to pick just one! All of these ladies have been creating gorgeous pieces all year long so this was a really tough choice!
Christy at Confessions of A DIY’er
Christy’s makeovers are always a win for me so it’s really hard to pick just one. But if I have to… it would be this Painted Dresser with the Vigorus Violet Transfer which Christy sells in her Etsy Shop here. She turned this dark tall boy into a feminine floral beauty!
Here’s the before…
And here’s the new look! I love her styling as well, traditional yet so feminine!
And doesn’t the wood compliment the violet nicely? You can Christy’s full step-by-step Painted Dresser with Transfer here.
Jen at Girl In The Garage
My favorite from Jen this year is this sad-looking bookshelf. It was a REAL fixer upper and Jen poured some love on it and it came out ahhh-dorable!
Here’s the before…
And here’s the bookshelf after Jen worked her magic — isn’t it adorable!?! Any little girl would love to have this in her room!
The colors she put together are so spot on it looks like wallpaper! You can see Jen’s full step-by-step tutorial for Stenciled Bookcase here.
Kathy at Petticoat Junktion
As I mentioned last year, Kathy is a master of restyling furniture on a budget. My top pick for her this year doesn’t disappoint! This was her first time using a rub-on-transfer and it looks phenomenal!
Here’s the before…
And here’s the after! She did such an amazing job with this desk. The royal blue paired with the colorful drawers has real character now!
Here’s a close-up of her transferred drawers. The colors tie in so beautifully with the royal blue paint! You can check out Kathy’s full step-by-step How To Decorate with Rub On Transfers here.
AND NOW FOR SOME FURNITURE FIXER-UPPER FUN!
Here are the links to my Furniture Fixer Upper ladies’ #1 makeover picks for 2022. I’m heading over to take a peek as well! I have to be honest… I’m really curious as to which one of my makeovers they picked! 😅
1. CONFESSIONS OF A SERIAL DIYER
2. GIRL IN THE GARAGE
3. PETTICOAT JUNKTION
4. SALVAGED INSPIRATIONS (HAPPY YOU’RE HERE!)
Thank you for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed this roundup as much as I enjoyed creating it. 💚
As of this Saturday (after I post the Youtube Video for this DIY Ice Skate Wreath), I’m unplugging for some R&R over the holidays and will be back the first week of January with more salvaged furniture makeovers, inspiring ideas, painting techniques, and DIY styling tips. I’m excited about what 2023 will bring and even more excited I get to share it all with YOU! As I’ve said before (and I’ll probably say another thousand times) this wouldn’t be any fun without YOU!
Happy Holidays to you and yours and see you in 2023!
Happy furniture painting friends!
