HAMPTON OLIVE SECRETARY DESK
Here’s a beautiful vintage secretary desk using this ‘Hampton Olive’ Silk All In One Mineral Paint. I picked Hampton Olive because it’s such a stately, gorgeous vintage green. A few Woodubend Appliques were added, and the beautiful LACE transfer detail on the inside. You can check out the full makeover and supplies in the link above.
GREEN + GOLD CONSOLE TABLE
Here’s a console table that I have sitting behind my couch as I write this. The gold leaf paired with the Dark Collard Green looks so elegant. I’m still loving the looks of this table I just wish the top was a little longer so I could put a large table lamp on each side to frame the pic I have hanging on the wall. Maybe that will have to go on the list of future projects. 🙂
CACTUS PAINTED SIDE TABLES
Makeovers don’t have to take days — this one was completed in 2 hours minus dry time! I used this Cactus Silk Paint. It took two coats for full coverage and then I added a little gold pinstriping detail.
GREEN BLENDED CHINA CABINET
This was blending FUN at its best! I started with this gorgeous Palmetto Green on the legs and bottom. Then added this Kudzo Green. And finally, this Limeade – a cheerful bright yellow/green. This china cabinet sits in my sisters beautiful home and houses plants. I have to say, it’s lovely to see it every time I visit!
1970s Olive Wood Green Drum Table
Here’s the 1970s thrifted drum table my sister Andrea had to convince me to pick up. I used a new-to-me color called Olive Wood Chalk Mineral Paint. Then paired it with a beautiful water-based stain. I can’t believe how many views it got on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube!
KUDZO + COLLARD GREENS PAINTED TALLBOY
I ended up choosing creating an equal parts 50/50 mixture of Kudzo and Collard Greens to create this Juniper green on this MCM dresser. Juniper is a woodsy muted green with gray undertones reminiscent of a walk in the crisp, fall forest that was an Autumn Suzanne exclusive over at Dixie Belle. The ghost stripes really highlight the gorgeous green as well.
EVERGREEN PAINTED WASHSTAND
Here’s the washstand that I refinished with a very different look for 7 years in a row. This version in 2019 was painted in Dixie Belle Paint in “Evergreen” and paired with the stain, was absolutely one of my favorites. This . I’m really sorry I retired this piece… I thought you all were getting bored, lol, but this past Christmas so many of you reached out asking where the Christmas Washstand makeover was. I promise I’ll keep my eyes peeled for another appropriate piece, and we can start a brand-new holiday furniture tradition. And if you’re curious about all 7 looks – you can see them at the bottom of this post HERE!
THRIFT BLANKET BOX
This was last week’s makeover, which got mixed reviews online – especially on the YouTube comment section. But the mixed reviews weren’t on the beautiful Cactus SILK All-In-One mineral paint, but rather the stained base. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. I think they pair really well together!
SPANISH MOSS PAINTED DRESSER
This tallboy was a fun painting challenge because it was inspired by suggestions on FB… and then I amalgamated them all together! It was layered with a few paint colors but this Spanish Moss Chalk Paint stole the show on this piece!
GOLD AND GREEN VINTAGE DRESSER
To create a dark, moody green, I mixed this Acadia Green with some Anchor Black. This is a great example to use the paint you have on hand – don’t me afraid of mixing colors! You can end up with a one-of-a-kind color while saving yourself from buying new paint.
GREEN BUTTERFLY COLLAGE DRESSER
This fabulous piece was created using leftover bits and pieces of transfers/paper, stencils, and this gorgeous Collard Green Chalk Mineral Paint color.
LEATHER TOP GREEN SIDE TABLE
For this traditional side table, chose a new DB paint color called Truffle. I wasn’t sure if they were referring to a chocolate truffle or a mushroom truffle. The description of this color says – “Rich, warm, and grounded; Truffle is a deep, earthy brown inspired by aged wood, cozy cottages, and the indulgent tones of hand-crafted chocolate.” I see it. I also see that it has rich earthy green undertones. What do you think?
FARMHOUSE GREEN DRESSER
This bright and cheerful green dresser landed on a magazine cover! This dresser was found in the trash and turned into a Farmhouse Green Chalk Mineral Paint beauty!
EASTER MAGAZINE TABLE
With Easter just around the corner, I thought I’d share this Magnolia Chalk Mineral Paint for this table. Magnolia is this beautiful spring, delicate, creamy off white. Its a perfect of example of how lovely it pairs with the Olive Wood Chalk Mineral Paint. Using green paint to hide the rice papers seams, highlight edges or decorate work looks amazing.
ANNIE SLOAN AMSTERDAM GREEN DRESSER
Here’s one of my all-time favorite green furniture makeovers. I love it just as much today as when I first did this makeover back in 2018. It was a layered paint technique with Annie Sloans Amsterdam Green being the super star! I also layered with Olive and Aubusson Blue leaving little areas (like around the corners of the drawers) with the first two colors revealed. There’s even a little wood left revealed too. You can check out the full tutorial in the link above.
SMOKEY MOUNTAIN GREEN/GRAY CHEST
For this chest makeover, I chose to paint this in Smoky Mountain.– This is a perfect example of how color is so subjective. Some people see gray, some people see green, other see blue! I would describe it as dark gray with green undertones. I used my brush it on / roll it smooth for a ‘sprayed’ finish… or as close as you can get to a spray finish without a sprayer.
OLIVE CHALK PAINTED DRESSER
To achieve old-world-antique-charm, I painted this vintage dresser below with 2 coats of Annie Sloan’s Olive. After sanding and distressing the final coat, the Olive was dark glazed with GF Vandyke Brown Glaze Effects. Three coats of Varathane Satin Polyurethane was applied for protection – sanding between each coat. The look this created is modern-vintage!
DRIED SAGE DESK MAKEOVER
This green desk was painted in Dried Sage Chalk Mineral Paint along with a few other greens for an artistic Magnolia look!
ACADIA GREEN TALLBOY
Its always fun getting to try a brand new paint color! When I posted a quick video of this dresser on Facebook, one of my followers Tracy suggested I paint this tallboy in a dark green. Dixie Belle was generous enough to send me their new paint line, so I dug into the box and found this Acadia SILK All-In-One Mineral Paint. This is such a rich dark green jewel tone. It looks great on MCM or modern designs AND traditional furniture as well.
ENGLISH IVY DRESSER
And last but not least, this was a super fun dresser makeover. I chose to paint this dresser in this English Ivy which is a beautiful earthy forest green with gray undertones. I also used my new airbrush kit to spray the gold stencil design.
I hope today’s green-painted furniture roundup left you feeling inspired to take a second look at all those beautiful shades and hues. As you’ve seen from these makeovers, green is anything but boring—it’s incredibly versatile and can completely change the look and feel of a piece. Depending on the shade, tone, finish, and special details you choose, you can create everything from modern to farmhouse to traditional styles. However you use it, green paint has a way of turning furniture into a truly gorgeous statement piece.
Enjoy the rest of your day. No green beer for me tonight, but I’d love to hear how/if you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the comments down below. 💚
Happy painting!
Denise xo

I also love green, and seeing all these creative gems in one place is amazing! Thanks for sharing your talent and inspirational makeovers Denise!
Hi Nicki! I’m a huge GREEN fan as well and thanks so much! Enjoy your weekend. XOXO
Of them all, which I love, I think that the blended cabinet that resides in your sister’s house, is my all-time favorite. It looks like a lot of work, but it was sooo worth it. I LOVE green and hope to do a green piece soon,
I’m so glad you mentioned the Christmas project possibly being resurrected for this year. I was wondering where it went. It’ll be exciting to see what you pick.
I love that cabinet as well and my sister has turned it into the most gorgeous plant ‘home’. She has a real green thumb and it looks awesome. And yessss, I better keep my eyes peeled for a NEW Christmas project. I honestly thought you were all getting so bored seeing the same piece every year. Then I was surprised at all the emails/comments I received asking where it was.😆 I’ll find something fabulous and start a NEW tradition this coming holiday season!
Greens are wonderful. Grounded and earthy. They always seem to find a place in most decor.
I esp like the Hampton olive desk. Great soft neutral ish green. The olive wood drum table is sweet !
The side table in DB Truffle. Perfect neutral brown/taupe/green !
The desk in Dried Sage chalk MP. A perfect soft summer garden green.
Sometimes so hard to pick one !!!
Thanks for sharing all your pretty green lovelies. 🙂
Green is one of my favorite colors to work with and I think some tones/hues can be used as a neutral as well! It’s funny, I see a lot of comments on social media saying asking why everyone is painting furniture green lately… but green furniture has been around for centuries. So happy you enjoyed the roundup P and wishing you a lovely week/weekend!
I agree.
I still have an old radio cabinet – my sister and I painted in the back yard at our childhood home. Green!
Think it was approx 1968 ish.
It has always blended in – with 4 house moves.
I’d like to refresh it some day – to one of your colors – Hampton Olive, or dried sage.
Thanks for the inspiration 😉
Since you brought up 1968 I hope you don’t mind me chiming in about our age… lol… but remember when appliances were green? I was a kid in the 70’s and our home had an avocado fridge and stove! So yes, green has been around FOREVER!😉 💚💚💚
There’s something about that little drum table that gets me every time. I’m going to have to look for one for the landing on my staircase. If I can find a half table that would be great. Yours is perfect!
Thanks Leslie! I give my sister Andrea credit for that little drum table… I wouldn’t have picked that one up on my own…lol!
I have been thinking of a remake of my dining room table in green but could not visualize a green table. Seeing the many variations of green has truly inspired me. Your green’s are a beautiful peacock of the totality of possibilities! Thank you! May your Irish spirit live long!
I’m SO happy this has inspired you to take another look at your dining room table in green Lisa and thank you! 🙂
I like so many of these, but especially the color of the first one. It makes the piece!
I agree, I love the color as well. It gives that desk a vintage/updated vibe! Have a wonderful week my friend. XOXO

Please keep sharing your great items with us. I get super ideas from you. I’m not great at originality but I can copy and embellish others ideas like crazy.
I’m so happy you are appreciating the shares and its sparking some ideas for you Sue! What’s that Picasso quote?… “Good artists copy – great artists steal.” I think it’s amazing that we gather ideas from different artists and put our own spin on things. Brilliant!💚 Enjoy your week!
